Merry Christmas

I just finished reading Daniel Woodrell's "Woe To Live On." Highly recommended Civil War novel with wonderful language. Later, the wife and I put on "Emmett Otter's Jug-Band Christmas" (one of our X-Mas traditions along with "A Wish for Wings That Work" and "A Charlie Brown Christmas" and, on Christmas Eve, "It's a Wonderful Life"). Daniel Woodrell also wrote "Winter's Bone." Well, the two things got all mixed up and this is what came out of all that.
I'm a sick man.

Biotron

Biotron of the Micronauts (comic not toy, there are slight differences between the two). He was very hard to figure out. This is my first pass. It usually takes me a few drawings before figuring out a character. Finding visual reference for him, in even the comics, was very hard. I'll probably need to find the toy for accurate reference.
Will probably try again later as I am fascinated with the Micronauts.

James Bond Super Henches

007 super henches. Or at least the ones I can remember. Odd Job from "Goldfinger." My man Jaws from both "The Spy Who Loved Me" and "Moonraker." Grace Jones as May Day from "A View to a Kill." And Zao from "Die Another Day." Not just your normal henchmen. These guys got a shtick. And then there's Grace Jones. She's just super.

The Adventures of Han and Lando (and Chewie)

Why does this not exist as a comic book? Seems like the most obvious idea. The Young Han Solo flying the Millennium Falcon for Lando with Chewie playing the part of Kaylee from Firefly. Pulling scams and hauling illegal cargo right under the nose of the Empire. Jabba would play the part of Badger. I mean c'mon, Serenity was basically the Millennium Falcon. We all knew that. Now that Whedon consults for Marvel Films which is owned by Disney who now owns Star Wars. It's like the sci-fi gods are willing this to be. Lando would totally be the space Shaft.

Children of Cyclops

The Summers Kids:
Rachel: the Days of Future Past daughter of Scott Summers and Jean Grey. Cable: the son of Scott Summers and a clone of Jean Grey named Madelyne Pryor aka the Goblin Queen. X-Man (Nate Grey) from the Age of Apocalypse, a test tube coupling of genetic material from Scott Summers and Jean Grey. That Scott Summers sure do get around some. You know you're bad ass when you have three alternate future kids running around in your back yard.

Hope Summers

The Mutant Messiah:
She started out as the Invisible Woman but I kept getting a Hope vibe off her face. Probably because she looked so young. So: Hope Summers.

Puck

Eugene Milton Judd. Puck from Alpha Flight. Two-fisted superhero dwarf. Complicated history. Wiki if you're curious. Here's my version. I've mentioned before how I have a soft spot for the weirdos in the superhero community right?

Abel

Went on vacation up to Tahoe where I re-read the entire House of Mystery series by Sturges and Rossi (which I whole-heartedly recommend). One minor character in that series was Abel, the host of the House of Secrets and the ill-fated, constantly murdered, brother to Cain, the host of the House of Mystery. Back in the day these two were like the Cryptkeeper or Elvira for two of DC's horror anthologies. Well, maybe not like Elvira all that much. This reminded me that when I was much younger I had decided to redraw DC's Who's Who: The Definitive Directory of the DC Universe (ambitious wasn't I?) from A to Z. And the very first character in that directory was Abel. I only got five in. I was in 8th grade. There was a world of other stuff to occupy my time (girls). So, in honor of my ambitious youth, here is Abel.
