So I hated my Martyr post. Started again. Hated that one. Started again. Here's the third try:
Here's the half-finished second try:
Still not happy. But I'm done with Martyr for now. Must move on.

Wileaydus Autolycus the Spirit of Vengeance
This Guardian of the Galaxy was from the era of comic-y excess known as the 90's. Space Ghost Rider! Oh yeah.

Yondu Udonta
A bit different from Michael Rooker's very awesome portrayal from the Guardians of the Galaxy movie. But some things were the same.
James Gunn kept the yaka whistle arrow. The Freakin' Yaka Whistle Arrow!!! For that and so much more James Gunn deserves respect.

Jaxxon and Amaiza Foxtrain
These two were in a couple of Marvel Star Wars comics from back in the 70's. This picture combines two of my favorite topics: Star Wars and comic book esoterica.

The Geefle and Gonk from Sesame Street or "The Fault Is in Our Arms"
These two taught me about cooperation (also known as "Shirley") as well as evolutionary symbiosis. On the planet Snoo two species evolved in such a way that their only source of food (nectarines) would always be out of reach (evolutionary dead-ends if ever there were any). One was tall enough to reach the fruit but could not use its, frankly, vestigial arms to feed itself. The other was just too short to reach the nectarine. Together, well, you know.

Lunatik
Been a long time. Gonna try a sketch a day. Here's a forgotten Marvel character from the 90's. He was like Lobo with "flair"(buttons adorning his jacket). All I know about him I got from wikipedia. I biffed the blacks on his arms but that's what you get when you draw analog. My Cintiq is still boxed up from a recent move so it's gonna hafta be analog for a little while yet.

Transonic in Color!
Trying some color. Picked an easy one to start with. All blue. Can only get better.
She's from Generation Hope. A short lived but well done X-Men series from 2011. Now she can be found in the background of a few other X-Men series.
Still need to get the hang of digital coloring. I watched a Kris Anka time-lapsed sketch to get the basic idea.
