Sabra

Here's Marvel's Sabra:
I only know her from The Contest of Champions and a few appearances from both Bill Mantlo and Peter David's Hulk runs. This is her first appearance look, I think.

I found a Rom the Spaceknight blog that featured some of my Rom sketches (I love Rom. Rommy Rommy Rom). Even a colored version of one of my Rom sketches. Well, the guy who runs the blog is a big Bill Mantlo fan (as am I). And thus, also a big Sabra fan as Bill and Sal Buscema created her. So I wanted too draw her for this guy who runs the site as a thank you for liking my stuff.

Can't remember too much about Sabra. She's an Israeli Superhero Mutant. She didn't have a gun back in her early appearances but it's part of her new look now. So I added it because cool. My Star of David could use some work. But I love her huge fro and that furry cape.

Plasmer and Tuck from Marvel UK part 2

Because I hated the last one I did:

Wall Drawings

Work got some writable walls installed. So I did these:

The above two were from templates found online. That's Richard Ayode from the IT Crowd for our IT crowd. This next was someone saying they wanted a ballerina.

Girl

Girl from the interwebs what I drawed today. This girl. Trying to be more like my hero Cameron Stewart. He draws girls good. This was done using straight up pencils and pens.

The Final Count

It had to be done.

Finally, it was the great number of victims that drove these two confirmed bachelors to the deed.

That number kept going up.

And up.

Ah ah ah.

Plasmer and Tuck from Marvel UK

Don't know much about these two. They were part of the Marvel UK line back in the early 90s.

This was during the Liefeld Image era. Big boobs in bikinis with big guns and ridiculous shoulder pads.

This proves, once again, my love of comic book oddities.

I got tired doing Plasmer's hair so it got kinda scribbly.

Cat-Man

Coming at ya like a monkey-cat!
Partially inked by Al Gordon, the rest by me at tonight's workshop.

And his original appearance in Daredevil #10. I like that the bottom of his mask is his actual beard. Crazy awesome.

Phantom Girl

An old old sketch inked by Al Gordon:

Ben Reily the Spider-Clone

Don't know much a bout this guy but it's Spidey with a hoody.
Another analog pencil sketch as a warm up exercise.

Feral Wolverine

Remember when this happened to Wolverine? I kinda do, sorta. It was during a time when I wasn't following the X-Men (known as the 90's, children) all that much. He got better.
Strictly analog pencils with levels sharpened up some with the Photoshop. I sure am glad he don't wear them ridiculous boots no more. I like the challenge of interpreting weird looks.

Sketch

Sketch from the workshop. The background is based on a Milton Caniff panel from Steve Canyon maybe. I'll ink it digitally sometime soon and post.

The Melter

Bruno Horgan, an Iron Man villain in his ridiculous debut costume designed by Steve Ditko and Don Heck from "Tales of Suspense" #47. Also, my approx of Kirby tech in the background. And a filter effect for good measure.

Flippa Dippa

Been reading Jack Kirby's Fourth World stories and here was this guy: Flippa mother-effin' Dippa. He was added to the 1970's iteration of the Newsboy Legion. Kirby, wanting to include some color to the cast, introduced the world to Walter Johnson Jr., scuba enthusiast par none. One hopes he grew up to be a Sea Devil fighting the monsters of the deep. Flippa Dippa is an odd combination but that's what makes him so damn cool. Haters will hate though and he's probably been re-booted into limbo with all the other anachronistically beautiful DC characters of late. Or, more horribly, made into some grim, punisher-type, secret wet-works super-assassin or something equally 90's of the New 52. Also, he was probably Grant Morrison's inspiration for the wonderful Sea Guy. Grant was using a version of the Newsboy Legion during his Seven Soldiers series. Morrison loves himself some Kirby. As should we all. As should we all.

I, Mok! revised

This one-pager came together very fast last Sunday. Since then I saw some things I wanted to revise like giving the third panel more breathing room as well as fixing some bad drawing here and there. Loretta the Mok was the weakest panel to me so she just had to go. I feel much better about this now.

Woden Thorson

Was reading an article on the history of the Guardians of the Galaxy in the most recent "Back Issue" (published by Twomorrows Publishing) and came across this guy: Woden son of Thor and Sif in the 31st century. He appeared in the Valentino run of the Guardians of the Galaxy (which I never read and so have no idea what Woden's deal was outside of the article).

Short Story I'm Working On page 1

Four to Five pages max. Hopefully done in about a week or so. Just doing as an exercise in doing. It's a horror story. And, yes, it's based on the beard I grew recently. My evil, evil beard.

Roachmill vs Fear Agent

Hell yeah Roachmill! Great forgotten comic. And Fear Agent!
As you can tell from this and the last post I've been going through some old forgotten indie comics of my youth. Well, Dreadstar was fromMarvel's Epic line, so only slightly indie. And Fear Agent is so not from my youth. I just wanted to see these two square off.
Oh Roachmill. I miss you. So good. So good.

Angel Poop

Did this sketch in the workshop. It's Angel pooping on a car. I know it looks like he's wearing shorts of some kind. Them are shorts made from unstable molecules so quite yer whining. I like his Kirby knee. KIRBY KNEES!!

Robin

Drawn and inked at the workshop. Dick Grayson, the first Robin. Here he is just starting out. I have to imagine he's wearing flesh-colored tights. As a Robin fan I need to imagine he's wearing flesh-colored tights. Debate closed.

Omega Men

Tigorr, Broot, and Nimbus. A small sampling of the Omega Men from back in the 80's. Man that was good comics.
